The agent of River Plate midfielder Matias Galarza has hinted that Juventus has submitted the most compelling offer for the Paraguayan international. The 24-year-old, who has played in Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina, and the USA, including a recent loan spell with Atlanta United, is reportedly eager for a new challenge in European football.

Galarza's contract with River Plate extends until December 2028, but he is not currently training with the club following his loan spell and is actively seeking a move to Europe.

Galarza's European aspirations

His agent, Regis Marques, told Rock & Pop in Paraguay, "He had a great World Cup and it's a shame, because I think River Plate were wrong in excluding him from the squad." Marques further stated, "My job is to get the best deal for him now. We have three or four proposals that we are examining. We’ll make a decision closer to the end of the transfer window."

Crucially, Marques added, "I can say that the strongest offer we have is from Europe, and specifically from Italy. He wants to go to Europe and is asking for a significant salary improvement, which is only fair after such a good World Cup.”

According to TyC Sports, Juventus is the club Galarza is most seriously considering. While Sunderland has also expressed interest, a move to Juventus would represent a significant step up for the player.

Galarza has earned 19 senior caps for Paraguay, contributing four goals and two assists. He was a key player in their World Cup campaign, starting all but one match, which saw them reach the Round of 16 and eliminate Germany.
