Roma will intensify efforts to sign Alejandro Garnacho, who shares a strong friendship with Paulo Dybala. However, there are differing accounts regarding the nature of the potential deal, with speculation ranging from a loan move to a permanent transfer.

Last year, Garnacho was close to a move to Serie A, having been in advanced negotiations with Napoli. Ultimately, he chose a transfer from Manchester United to Chelsea for €46.2 million.

His time at Stamford Bridge has seen him score eight goals and provide four assists in 43 competitive appearances, though he started only 22 of those matches.

Garnacho back on Serie A radar

Multiple sources suggest that Chelsea has placed Garnacho on the market this summer, indicating he is not part of their long-term plans.

The primary point of contention revolves around the deal's structure. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is only open to a permanent sale of Garnacho, ruling out a loan with an option to buy.

Romano also reports that Roma is not prepared to meet Chelsea's financial demands for such a transfer.

Conversely, Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà claims that Roma is willing to allocate the €40 million initially earmarked for Olympique Marseille winger Mason Greenwood towards the acquisition of the Argentine player.

Garnacho, who recently celebrated his 22nd birthday, remains a target for Napoli as well, although their financial capacity may not extend to a permanent deal.

Pedullà suggests that Roma's advantage in pursuing Garnacho lies in his close friendship with Roma star Dybala, who has recently agreed to a contract extension with the club.
